My company has recently been looking to test and deploy PacketFence in our
environment. I am very new to PacketFence and not too experienced with Linux.
So far I seem to have been able to setup the registration VLAN and it is even
working with LDAP. In the registration VLAN, we are using the PacketFence
server to supply DHCP. When a user registers, the switchport is correctly
changed to the regular VLAN and the workstation obtains a DHCP address from our
external DHCP source (the local router). However, the PacketFence server does
not detect the new IP address for the workstation. I have enabled the IP-helper
command on our router, but nothing shows up in the pfdhcplistener log file. We
are testing and planning to use the server in a routed VLAN environment. Any
help would be greatly appreciated.
