One of the things we are exploring, is using CARP to make the failover
seamless. Haven't got that working yet. But let me know if you are interested
and we can work on it together.

Subject: [PacketFence-users] distributed PF installation
Hello all,
This message sort of reminded me of something. Here is the discussion:
http://www.mail-archive.com/packetfence-users%40lists.sourceforge.net/msg08213.html
What we are concerned with is having failover capabilities with the PF. For
instance, a central PF server and a bunch of satellite ones tasked with keeping
local networks at different locations up and running. We are also trying to see
what options we have for having the central server replicated/failed over.
The closest I could find in the documentation was in the Admin Manual (
http://www.packetfence.org/downloads/PacketFence/doc/PacketFence_Administration_Guide-4.7.0.pdf
) on page 79 where the subject was HA, clustering, etc. I wonder what other
options are out there, how to make the failover seamless ,etc.
Any input much appreciated.
Cheers,
Boris.
