Perhaps this has to do with the fact that no one wants to do your homework for
you.
I believe the point of your internship is to get you to learn.
There is no royal road to knowledge, through a mailing list or otherwise.
Read up a bit on 802.1x. Read the PacketFence and FreeRADIUS documentation.
Read the mailing list archives. These things are all explained but you have to
put in the work just like we all did.

Depends. Using 802.1x (not MAB) you should authenticate prior to getting on the
network.
