Thanks for your reply. At the moment I don't get any errors if the username and 
password are not accepted. I do get them in the logs, but not on the captive 
portal.
As for login attempts, yes I can hack something myself (maybe using just 
javascript). I just wanted to know if there was already something in place; 
mainly because there's a setting in portal profiles to specify max number of 
login attempts before 'blocking' the user for X amount of time.

Could you be more specific about what you want? I does tell you if the username 
and password are not accepted I believe.

Not at the moment.Anything is possible, but that would require hacking the code 
for the authentication source as well as the captive portal.You may be better 
off just adding a message to the template that says that you are allowed three 
attempts.
