Hello Yan,

funny, you can tell the network team that they find a way to crash the ruckus controller ;-)

More seriously even if PacketFence return crap the controller is not supposed to crash,?0?2 so did you check the ruckus logs , did you asked the ruckus support ?

I remember a story like that with a client where the Access point vendor always said that it was because of PacketFence until they found that it was a bug on the AP ....

Regards

Fabrice

Hi dear users,

Yesterday our 2 Ruckus AC(a master and a slave, in cluster mode) crashed, and our network team thought it might be caused by pf...Is there any issue with pf to integrate?0?2with Ruckus AC ? Any special configuration ?

The day before yesterday we deployed pf V7.3 in one of our office A. We use Ruckus AC ZD1200 v9.13 and H3C core switch in office A. We configured pf as radius server to handle 802.1x authentication and we also used dynamic VLAN for different kinds of people. In Ruckus side we enable the dynamic VLAN feature and create a vlan pool with one normal vlan inside and referred in dynamic vlan config. And we disable PMK cache since our network mate thinks it'll cause issue on macos PCs. We also created registration VLAN and isolation VLAN in switch side.

The change is simple, we just change radius server form cisco ACS to pf. It seems okay in the morning and noon except iphone 7 and 7 plus have network issue. Then at about 16:47 both of our Ruckus ACs seemed crash and all users suddenly had no network. The ssid was still there but we just couldn't successfully connect. We did a hard restart on AC and all was fine then. We didn't see any wired logs in pf side but the issue happening timing made us embarrassing.?0?2 Our Ruckus in office A has been running stably for nearly 300 days. So will any configuration will cause problems ?
