I've spun up an 8.3.0 instance and I'm just doing some testing. I think the password of the day feature has remained roughly the same for my purposes. Although the implementation might be significantly better in 8.3.0.
I think what I want to do is chain two authentication sources together, so I use password of the day to authenticate then maybe something like email to register a user account. However, email registration sends the activation link which I don't really want. Is there another module that might be better suited to my needs?
