Hello John,

you can use a null source with email as mandatory or Kickbox source.

I've spun up an 8.3.0 instance and I'm just doing some testing. I think the
password of the day feature has remained roughly the same for my purposes.
Although the implementation might be significantly better in 8.3.0.

I think what I want to do is chain two authentication sources together, so I
use password of the day to authenticate then maybe something like email to
register a user account. However, email registration sends the activation link
which I don't really want. Is there another module that might be better suited
to my needs?

Thanks
John

Has this functionality changed since version 6.5.1? I've seen that you've added
an authentication source that's now called password of the day but I was hoping
it was basically the same. When I do this it just overwrites the details for
the user account that I'm using for guest access.

If I need to upgrade to the latest version is this easy enough to do? Any
gotchas?

Thanks

Hello John,

yes it's possible, you just have to select mandatory fields in the portal
module.
