Olá meu companheiro, não sei se meu relato pode lhe ajudar, mas, foi o que passei na minha virtualização com o Proxmox. Quando tentei instalar nas primeiras vezes, não esperei tempo suficiente, a instalação ficou incompleta, descobri que estava travado e reiniciei. Depois, consegui reinstalar por completo com a ISO o PF, mas, os sistemas não subiram só, o MariaDB e consequentemente o PF, refiz as configurações do DB e reiniciei o PF e deu certo. Mas, no meu caso, eu tinha um IP vindo do meu DHCP, meu Proxmox está em NAT.
Depois, precisei reinstalar de novo, porém, a ISO não funcionou bem. Instalei o Debian 11, limpo e depois instalei o PF, acabei me dando menos dor de cabeça. Sobre ter uma imagem, acredito que existe uma imagem do Projeto para VMware, aí, você pode tentar converter os discos para o Virtualbox.
