Hi all, I raised the issue a couple of weeks ago. Meanwhile I opened a Bug at the Gstreamer Bugzilla:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=666735 It turns out the problem is with the Fluendo MP3 codec. I thought that this component is part of gstreamer as well but it seems as if I will have to open another Bugreport somewhere else. Still trying to find out... In the meantime i tried the following: Switched the gstreamer-fluendo-package from packman (created in dec 2011) to standard Opensuse (created in feb 2011). Surprise: The mp3 file plays just fine. Switched back to the packman version: garbled sound. So it is either an issue with the gstreamer fluendo codec that has been broken between feb and dec 2011 (thats why I want to open a bugreport there) or the packman package is broken (thats why I'm posting here). Maybe someone can have a look at that.
