Looking at the File menu of Padre I see
Open...
Save As...
Open Session...
Save Session...
Print...

and the others don't have ... (three dots).

Is there a rule when we should add them and when not?

If I am not mistaken there are 4 typs of menu items:

1) Immediate actions - the menu will do something real
2) Delayed actions - the menu will open a dialog or otherwise ask for permission
3) A mix of 1) and 2) (e.g. Open Selections sometimes behaves like 1)
sometimes like 2)
4) Opening submenues

For 4 probably we don't need ... as there is another indication (an
arrow on Windows).
I don't remember now, is there something on Linux?

I think 1) does not need ...
2) needs ...

3) I have no idea.

What do you think?
