That's odd... the mistake I made was the dialog box that warns you you are not saving a file with an extension does the same thing for both yes and no. Which as Adam pointed out in irc today means you can't save Changes files. :(
As to the crashing, a very quick check seems to point to perl 5.10.0 causing crashes, and 5.10.1 being OK. This hasn't been exhaustively checked though, it was based on my own experience with upgrading to 0.80 on a perl 5.10.0 and no crashes after that once I'd upgraded to 5.10.1. > I'm having several crashes when saving files (or when opening ^M files > on Unix).
