In r13674 I added a new key called 'help' to one of the configuration options and added some code so when viewing the Advanced configurator ( Tools / Preference / Alt-A ) if you click on one of the options you will see the text of this help field.
I added the text to the option that is called startup_splash so only if you select that will you see actual content. We should probably add a Help button to the Preference window that will fetch the 'help' entries of the current window and display them. Even better might be to show the text in a bubble (or at the bottom of the screen?) when moving the mouse over the text of a configuration option. We can also use this data to build a documentation page either inside Padre or as a web page.
