It seems as if you need some additional libraries on your system before you can run Padre. If I am correctly informed, Scientific Linux is based on RedHat, so maybe the Fedora information may help you: http://padre.perlide.org/trac/wiki/DownloadFedora Please let us know whether the information there also helps users of Scientific Linux.
