Hi Sebastian, While on face value I like the idea, I think managing it would be a bit too much, even for a low volume mailing list.
The issue I have is that a '-users' list is where people come to ask questions and seek advice, most of us would also have to subscribe to that extra mailing list to keep an eye on what's coming through. Granted the -dev list seems to hold a certain expectation of 'grumpy' devs, I myslef would just prefer that the one list be in use and have people come here when ever for what ever, until such time that the traffic on the list is so much that it warrents a separate user mailing where we have a community to support it. Just my thoughts.. I'd subscribe to any new Padre list once I know about it.. :) Pete. > Hi all, > > what do you think about a Padre announcement list or Padre user mailing > list? > > People using but not developing Padre might want to stay informed about > Padre updates, new Plugins and important bugfixes but don't want to join > the developer discussion list which has more traffic. > > An announcement list could be "advertised" within Padre and read-only to > the users. > > Sebastian > _______________________________________________ > Padre-dev mailing list > Padre-dev@perlide.org > http://mail.perlide.org/mailman/listinfo/padre-dev
