Indonesian Ferry Sinks, Over 70 People Missing
JAKARTA, Feb 1 (Bernama) -- More than 70 people were missing as a ferry
sank in east Indonesian water Tuesday evening, according to Xinhua
Wednesday, quoting a report by a local radio.
The ferry carrying 84 passengers sank at about 10.30 pm local time on its
way from Kupang, capital of East Nusatenggara province to Rote, a small
city in the province.
Only 12 people have been found, others were still missing, radio Alshenda
reported.
Naval vessels have been called in to search for the ferry, the report
quoted a post official as saying.
