Any other Palmer curious about Motorola moves?

The Piano project (http://www.mot.com/GSS/SSTG/piano/) is really cool
and should be synergistic with wireless Palm future. Motorola spoke
about this stuff at the Palm Developers Conference in December. They
own a bunch of patents, so it's in their interests to promote it
widely and license the technology.

However, the Motorola Pagewriter seems a threat. Motorola lent
Pagewriters out to all the Lotus people at the Lotusphere conference
in January, and they loved it. I asked a Motorola guy if they were
going after the Palm VII space and he said 'absolutely'.

Jeffrey Bezos, chief executive of Amazon.com in Seattle, reached for a
wallet-size device on his belt. "My newest gadget is the Motorola
Pagewriter 2000," he said, referring to a wireless device known as a
smart pager. "It's nicely designed so that you can flip it open and read
your e-mail messages without taking it off your belt. They've really
thought it through well. You can send e-mail and receive e-mail, and it is
not as interruptive as a cell phone."

Anybody got any views?
