Do you know what the keyDown chars are? I couldn't figure out which it was.
That was how I was going to handle it. Actually, I believe if I grab the
keydown before the system handles it, it won't display at all (like if your
application set a handler for all character 'e' entires, your app handles it
instead of the system).

You could also watch
for keyDowns that change the shift state and change it back, but that
would result in a brief display of the GSI, which is something users
would notice.
