That is true, Dave. A design patent only protects a particular design, in
this case a design of an icon. I'm not sure why Daniel says that Microsoft
came up with this patent though. I'm looking at it in front of me, and it
says that the patent is assigned to NetObjects, Inc. of Redwood City, CA.

I believe that is a design patent. Its given for a specific design such as
their windows icon and not for the icon concept.
