I believe there is a bit in the HwrMiscFlags that says whether or not the
device has software contrast.
You can get this bit field via the feature manager.  I'm not sure of all
the right constant names so I can't list them, but if you can't figure it
out, let me know and I'll poke through the header files.

This is much cleaner than making assumptions about the battery voltage...

Subject:  Detecting hardware





Is there a way to detect the IIIx vs the V?  They both
run PalmOS 3.1 on the EZ chip, but the IIIx doesn't use
the software controllable contrast.  I'm working on a dialog
to allow the user to adjust grey-levels and contrast
(if on the V).  I'd like to disable my contrast control in
this dialog, if it is run on a IIIx.
Any ideas?
