I believe what you're looking for is the hwrMiscFlagHasSWContrast bit
in low memory global GHwrMiscFlags which (in order to avoid having to
hit low memory globals) is also available from the Feature
sysFtrNumHwrMiscFlags.
Note that sysFtrNumHwrMiscFlags doesn't exist prior to Palm OS 3.1,
but then again, neither does software contrast. Thus, an error
reading the feature implies no software contrast.
