Its not too difficult to modify a cradle.  Mine has LEDs on all the serial
lines, holder for a reset device and 'seatbelt' to keep the Palm III firmly
in the cradle (a PPro cradle).  Took me about 30-45mins to modify it.  If I
ever have any free time I could post the design, but honestly anyone with
some wiring skills could make it without any plans.
