What is the touch screen resolution?

I understand that the screen has a visual resolution of 160 x 160 but I
was wondering is the screen's touch resolution was any higher. If it
does, how would one going about getting the coordinates of screen
touches? Also, how would you go about querying the screen at a regular
basis, say every 10 milliseconds with a reasonable amount of accuracy.
