The original P*lot hardware used 8-bit A/D converters, and more recent
models (_perhaps_ PIII and more recent) use 12-bit A/D converters. That
said, I'm not sure what sort of resolution is actually available, and am
not aware of any way of retrieving a more precise resolution then the
160x160 returned by the Pen and similar functions. Obviously a higher
resolution would be nice if you wanted to do ink capture, or something
similar.
