I do the following things in the shown order:
SerOpen
Setting the flags (Baud, Handshake, BitsPerByte, StartByte, ...)
and then
SerControl(refNum, serCtlIrDAEnable, 0, 0);
Maybe it's a problem with the order of commands or handshake
misconfiguration ...
