Bob,

I am quite surprised you have not heard about it. Since the release of PalmV
developers I know have to answer regular complaints about their softwares'
alarms not waking up user's PalmV.

I hope other people at Palm Computing have heard it already. The
comp.sys.palmtops.pilot newsgroup is teeming with complaints too. Try
searching for these threads for instance:

* Palm V alarm does not work
* Datebook alarm doesn't go off when Palm V is turned off
* How to get an alarm sound with Palm V switched of?
* Confusion about alarm on Palm V???
* Palm V event alarm doesn't sound -- Palm IIIx too?
* Palm Pilot V and Alarm
etc.

The problem is that the unit cannot wake itself up. The alarms will sound
when the user turns the unit on later. Soft reset seems to fix this
temporarily.

Regards,
Petr
