I would suggest keeping track of the last character yourself.  Better to be
safe than sorry.  Why tie yourself to a private data structure that may or
may not change in the future, causing your application to not run on
upcoming devices, when with a little programming you can make sure that
you're compatible?


Again, keep in mind that I'm not a Developer Technical Support nor Palm OS
engineer, so I may not know what I'm talking about.  But if I were a
developer in your position, I'd do everything I could to not take the road
you're considering.


If you can't pack all the information you want into a single feature, can't
you just use two features?  How bad could that be?
