Not really. They were published sort of for interest's sake, and sort of
because nobody actively took them out.

They might well all be removed from the standard SDK, because they're
intended to be internal information that we are free to change at any
point.  As your note makes clear, giving even fairly straightforward
messages that we don't recommend using the info doesn't prevent folks from
using it... and causing compatibility problems down the line.

I've nothing against hacks at all, don't get me wrong.  Many of the apps
written by readers of this thread are great, even the ones which will
certainly not work in the future.  This info probably needs to be published
in some other way, so that casual/uninformed/new developers don't assume
they can rely on it not changing.

Well, frankly, getting out a 3.1 and 3.2 sdk and other such crucial tasks
will happen way before we do this, so don't hold your breath :-)
