There are references in the headers to a problem with wakeup in older
devices (non-IIIx and non-V). There was a workaround which caused the Palm
to wake up once a minute and check for alarms - apparently due to a bug in
the RTC.

I have wondered if maybe the EZ doesn't have this RTC bug and so the ROM
code was changed to eliminate the once-a-minute wakeup.

Another reason the ROM code may have changed is that I believe the EZ has
only one timer whereas the older Dragonball had two.

Also, as has been reported previously, there was a bug which would cause an
alarm to be delayed (typically 5 or 6 minutes) if a device timed out and
went to sleep with a PPP connection active.

Given all these previous problems, I would guess that the wake-up and alarm
code has been modified in the IIIx and V, so it would not surprise me if
there is a new bug. There sure have been a lot of problem reports in the
newsgroups.
