The error code means that there is already a conduit registered with that
creator ID. My guess is, you have already registered the conduit with
Condcfg. Check the registry hive
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\Pilot Desktop
to see all the Application and Component entries are pointing to correct
path. A corrupted entry may cause problem. I find the TestSync program quite
helpfull in tracking such problems. It's a freeware and can be found at
http://www.envicon.de/conduitdb.
