I'm using a Palm III, 2MB, OS 3.0 and my application is crashing when
allocating memory using MemPtrNew - I get errors such as "Bus error
exception at 0x10c1345e (PrvChunkNew)". I assume this means I'm out of
dynamic memory? I thought MemPtrNew would at least "fail gracefully" and
return NULL?
The most I'm allocating in any one call is roughly 350 bytes, and at any one
time there's never more than, say 2K, allocated. Which gets freed as soon as
possible.
It's been noted elsewhere on this list that a dynamic heap size of 96K on a
2MB device is a bit unfair - and with only ~36K free after the system takes
it's share things are somewhat worse. But I didn't think they were *this*
bad - are they?
Paul.
