Richard, you're right. After I wrote my message, I thought... there I was,
getting sucked into "the game." And it's a game not worth playing because,
as it has been stated here again and again, those who pirate wouldn't pay
for a program no matter what, that is, until they "see the light" and figure
out that good software efforts are worth funding, if only to feel good about
doing the right thing.
Registration codes are still a good way to help remind honest folks to pay.
Some of my shareware customers (almost ten years ago) even complimented the
constant but non-obnoxious reminder message in one of my programs, and at
$8, the price was right for a lot of people.
