Ugh, the Palm V still does that!  I was hoping the new OS versions got rid of
that little trick.  My III just did that earlier in the week; and I tried the
pgup during startup but it didn't make any difference.

Is it possible that the Palm could be a bit more resilient; like perhaps
localizing the corruptness or taking extra measures to make it not happen. 
FlashPro has been the *only* product to make these things more resilient, and
I think that is where some attention needs to be spent.
