Unfortunately using the SerControl( serRef, serCtlIrDAEnable, 0, 0 ) call
does not seem to work. It appears to stay connected to the serial port
rather than switching to the IR port.
I am using the IrComm enhancement from 3Com's site. After installing this
package there is a new preference setting available that allows selection of
"serial/IR". When I set the preferences to IR all my standard serial comm
goes thru the IRCOMM layers and is transmitted to (in this instance) a
printer.
The problem is that I cannot leave the is setting or hotsynch will not
function on the cradle. It has to be reset to "serial via cradle" on the
preferences for normal hotsynch. This is what I need to programmatically
control - the redirection to IR during my program's execution.
