thankyou Ben.. i was not flaming anyone this time around!

i dont mind using "many" windows.. my IDE is 'vi'.. and the unix
command prompt.. if you want anything done properly.. do it yourself,
i dont trust IDE's - they hide to much from the programmer..

grep, sed, more, gcc and lynx are my friends (text based) - not
  adobe, metroworks, microsoft (memory hoggers)

RE: Java - no memory "hog", i was comparing the documentation formats,
Java uses HTML - and is PERFECT (to me).. i had no reference to
the performance issues of the language itself.

lynx is a unix HTML viewer.. with no images.. no memory consumption
  there!?

if you use an IDE, you will never get the documentation to work
with your editors from within - there are simply too many people
to satisfy, and thats probably why 3com has used PDF :)

3com should also remember not everyone uses an IDE.

  cheers.
