hi!
actually.. i got ONE email over a month ago, asking if it was
ok to list LodeRunner on palmcentral. they offered that they
were going to start being a commercial buying center..
they sent me a list of "rules and regulations" - and asked
if i was interested in using their services.
i quickly responded with something like:
"well, PGHQ is my primary reseller, but i will overview
your papers and get back to you"
ONE email.. then i decided (i got bored) one day and
check out the webpage.. then i thought "what the heck"
and logged in.
i have not had anything from them, except they offered
an "advertising" special to registered developers.
i actually find their webpages a bit better than PGHQ,
basically from the following point of view:
a) no "new/updated" section on the front page.
this means i can UPDATE my software as many times
as i like.. (without the ABUSE from many of the
people on this list).
- we update our software because our users ASK
for new features.. i am terribly SORRY that i
solve requests and problems within 24hr..
i have been watching some developers update their
software.. their main reason for update is because
they "changed a GUI object or something".. thats
just abuse..
b) their "developer" interface is a bit nicer.. they
show you a current "status" of your sales and profit
as well as the normal download stats..
i have asked PGHQ for this.. but still waiting
(their web developers are a BIT slow) - it is
really a simple SQL call and HTML code generation.
it is sad to hear the "bugging" going on with the other
developers.. but maybe a simple "sorry, not interested -
please dont contact me again" reply might get the message
through?
palmcentral are definately a competing site to PGHQ..
it is a bit rusty now.. but it is another avenue of sale.
my 2c.
az.
