Our book "Palm Programming: The Authoritative Solution" (the title was not
our idea, sorry!) by Macmillan/Sams devotes an entire chapter to how to use
the Palm IR libraries to talk IrDA. It does NOT use OBEX, but rather the
low level apis. Find the book at Amazon.com. You can also find an excerpt
of the IR chapter on our web site, www.bachmannsoftware.com.
Finally, I recall there was a recent article in Dr. Dobbs that covered this
topic.
It's not a well documented area of the Palm SDK, but we had to figure
things out the hard way in developing our Print Manager product, so we
thought we'd pass our knowledge on to the general developer community via
the book.
Hope this helps!
