Jave on PalmOS

Anyone here with experience on writing apps with Java instead of the traditional
C/C++?  If so, I have a few questions:

Any other JVMs other than KVM?
What kind of performance difference have you noticed?
Any difference in executable size?
What problems have you seen talking with hardware?
Are you doing just in time compiling or not?
What other newsgroups are covering this?
