If it did get removed, then the user could merely reinstall
the app to reinitialize the eval period.  This is why such
things tend to get left behind.  And eval apps that leave
things like this behind tic off a fair percentage of the
market.  There was even one that did not differentiate the
versions of their app, so after I tried v1.0 and found it 
lacking I could not evaluate v2.0 (released -much- later).

You should see my msg that recently (finally!) made it to
the list describing comparing the apps "created" date against
both the current date & a datestamp stored in the database.
