per my earlier reply:
why not just turn off the hard buttons?
starting with OS 2.0 there is KeySetMask which lets you turn off various
hard buttons.
or you can handle the keyDownEvent yourself *before* calling SysHandleEvent,
and specifically filter out the hardChr1, etc keys. that way you can do
whatever you want (including simply ignoring them).
