the IIIe devices do not have flash rom. it is physically not possible to
upgrade their OS's through software. the only way would be for Palm to sell
a hardware upgrade similar to the 2MB upgrade for the PPro. the Palm web
site's comparison tool does point out this inherent limitation of the IIIe
devices. this is part of why they're cheaper.
