well,  i found out how to get rid of that warnings.  i was including
starup.lib and msl.lib.. so i looked at a sample and noticed that only one
of them was included... startup.lib.. so i removed msl.lib and it got the
warnings out....

but i'm still stuck with the 9 linker errors
