problem in Field object

hi friends,
   i am writing a simple prograam.in which i want to set the focus on 
 
a field i tried all options but it is not working.i have tried with the 
following functions;

1>FldGrabFocus
2>FrmSetFocus
 
  i also tried these things
fldP->attr.hasFocus = 1;

  i am a beginner in palm programming.so please help me.thanx in advance
