I have downloaded and instaled several apps to help with my responsibilities as
a systems admin. These apps include telnet, ssh, vnc, web browser, etc
The web browser is able to use the wireless connection to browse the web.
However the telnet and ssh type apps all want to use a ppp
(dial-up/serial-port) connection. Is the an app someone has put together to
allow calls made to the ppp, to be redirected to use the wireless connection
instead? Or even just a setting/configuration change? I spoke with the tech
support at Palm(.net), and of course it was way over their head. Obviously
there is some api (call?) that allows the email and browser apps to go straight
to the wireless connection. I'm surprised (if) that no one has just made a
simple util (maybe as an option in the ppp settings? instead of modem, use
wireless?) to allow the ppp (api?) calls to be redirected.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, we purchased half a dozen palms
exclusively for remote administration purposes, and will purchase around 20
more if we can get this resolved.
Thanks,
-Hawke
