Which wireless network are you trying to use? Palm.Net and PalmVII don't
support open IP connectivity and apps like telnet and non-proxy web and
email. The data network used by the Palm VII is to slow and expensive for
that sort traffic (but you have longer battery life and smaller devices)
If you're using CDPD (Novatel) or GSM or CDMA (and soon iDen) mobile phone
networks you can use things like telnet.
