ExgSocketType.appData always zero

I'm using the Exchange Manager for beaming data. When I put a value into
ExgSocketType.appData on the sender side and ExgSocketType.localMode is
false, appData is always received as zero. When localMode is true, the
appData value is passed correctly.

Can anyone shed some light on this?
