I had the same problem after I spilt black coffee on my Palm V. It
started acting crazy so I tried a hard and soft reset which did not work. I
left it with the Palm screen on overnight so it ran the battery down
completely (and dried out). I then put it in the cradle to recharge. It
restarted without a problem and I still had my data because it never reset.
