Depending on which flavor of unix/linux you use, you may be able to get
a precompiled copy of the gcc suite.  For example, on Debian 2.1 (or
higher), just say "apt-get install prc-tools".  (You may also want other
packages, such as pilrc, pilot-template, xcopilot, and pose) Check out

There you can find a lot of links, including documentation for compiling
gcc from scratch.
