Ok, I'm successfully using the Palm OS 3.x grayscale API (yes I know this
is only a 3.x-ism and that it might break, etc etc, but bear with me
please). It works just fine in the emulator and on my IIIx, but...

The contrast on the IIIx in gray mode is just horrible, forcing me to
adjust it "up" with the wheel. When I do this, it looks pretty good, but
then of course when my app exits, and resets the system to normal mode,
the screen is almost unreadably dark due to the contrast adjustment I had
to do...

A friend's IIIx behaves the same way, so I assume this is not just an
issue with mine. I don't have a V to play with to see if the same issue
happens there or not, but I suspect it's the advanced screen used in IIIx,
IIIe, V, etc...because on my Pro when I used other programs that used the
direct write-to-hardware method, all was fine contrast wise.

So the question is this. Is there something I can do about this annoying
contrast issue? Is there an API to set it? I know I can bring up the
slider on the V, but I don't think there's an API to set it in OS 3.x in
general, correct?
