cleaning up a database that's open

If I lose the DmOpenRef to a database, how can I close it?

I can find it again using DmFindDatabase, at which point a have a cardNo and
LocalID, but I can't figure out a way to use those to then _close_ the
database, because I need a DmOpenRef for that.

What's the right way to do this?  Thanks in advance...
