You can easily create a .r file from the .rsrc file by using the derez utility.
The type definitions are in PalmTypes.r (pre 3.5) or UIResTypes.r (3.5 and
later).
There are a few definitions that are missing (selector trigger among them)
which I defined in my own MoreTypes.r file.
I think what you are asking for though is for constructor to use .r (or
other text representation) as its native format.
